Quickie Bind Off For Ribbed Bands

Here’s an easy trick to get the bind off to resemble a CO. This is important when your cardigan band is knitted in one continuous piece.

Procedure

CO and K the ribbed band. Transfer all Sts to the Main bed. Break the yarn with a tail long enough to pull through all Sts. Thread the tail into a double eye ndl. Pick up and remove all Sts onto this yarn. After the band is removed from the machine, adjust the amount of yarn needed in the bind off by lightly stretching the band width-wise. Fasten the tail securely.
