From 1x1 or 2x2 Commercial
Rib to FNR and Jacquard
Standard
2x2 Rib
Standard
2x2 rib has 2 empty adjacent ndls opposite each group of 2 ndls
in WP on both beds. Pitch = P.
Commercial
2x2 Rib
Commercial
rib has a single empty ndl opposite each group of 2 ndls in WP
on both beds. Pitch = H.
This
CO technique is not suitable for standard 2x2 rib because the 2
empty adjacent Ndls can not create 2 new Sts. Instead, they create
macramé.
Procedure
1.
K an even number of rib Rs. COR. Bring all in-between NWP ndls
to WP on both beds.
2.
Set the pitch lever to “H”,

Knit 2 Rs. COR.
7.
To prevent the yarn from breaking when the RB is racked back, change
tension to 1/1, and change the slide lever to Center Position.
8.
Set the carriages to “Normal.”
9.
K 1 R to the left.
10.
To close the holes, rack back 1 full pitch to the right (Indicator

the image, one side of the “X” is red (previous R),
and the other side is blue (current R).
The
CO is complete. You are now set up for FNR. Adjust the tension and
slide lever to the appropriate tension and position for your yarn.
